Starting my blog

Hi everyone, it’s Jovita. Since starting my K-pop journey, I have been reading many articles on K-pop songs and their artists. However, many sources seem to create a negative light on them. Moreover, accurate sources, such as Soompi, don’t usually post content I am interested in.

I have recently been reading on this blogger called, thebiaslist, and read about their opinions on K-pop songs and their agencies. However, I feel that they can be very strict on the standard of these songs and point out a lot more negativity than positivity.

As a violinist, I know how challenging it is to play good music without making mistakes and satisfying the audience. I do not know how to compose music yet, but I am aware of the challenges that producers face and the good intentions they have in their music.

I started becoming more interested in music at 15, listening to songs from well-known artists, including Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. I have also been listening to lesser-known artists including Jayden Bartels and Madilyn Bailey. I was a huge fan of Cimorelli during the Covid period.

My journey as a K-pop fan started with Kdramas. Since young, I have always watched shows that my dad watches on TV, mainly all the 2010s Hong Kong Dramas. In Sep 2022, I glanced at two scenes from Tomorrow Kdrama and was very intrigued by the storyline and decided to watch it. Little did I know that I ended up watching the entire drama in 4 days and became obsessed with the show. In Nov 2022 and three more Kdramas later, I decided to try and listen to K-pop artists. I started with BTS and then started stanning SEVENTEEN, TXT, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, Stray Kids…the list goes on and on ;) I have only been a K-pop fan for two years, but I have been obsessed with K-pop songs listening to them on loop.

My goal is to be positive and support the hard work that these artists create. As a K-pop multi-stan, I may jump here and there when writing the artists’ songs. I am weak in my first language, which is English :’), please pardon my possible grammar mistakes along the way. I am also open to hearing your opinions on these songs :) Feel free to comment, but please keep it positive.

PS: If you’re interested to know the actual order of K-pop groups I stan, it goes like —> BTS, SEVENTEEN, TXT, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, Stray Kids, IU, Ateez, Newjeans, NCT, (G)idle, aespa, Babymonster, IVE, Katseye and Illit. There are other groups such as and NMIXX that I know all the members and their hit songs, but I don’t consider myself a stan of them…yet ;)
